Ditigal Story Telling

Digital story telling is a two sided sword. On the one hand you have unlimited resources that allow you to share your story through a number of different mediums. The flip side of the story though is that there is so many different resources livable that it is easy to get strapped in the details.
Digital story telling is not a new concept. Throughout time people have used the newest technology to present their message. People would use the printing press then photographs and so on. If you look back at the old projectors people would present pictures one click at a time. Now people use slide shows over the internet or set one the computer.
The biggest change with digital story telling is its ability to reach anyone and everyone. For someone who has mastered the different tools it is a wonderful opportunity so show unlimited creativity. It is a very important concept because this may be the medium we store our culture for the coming generations.

Global Education Communities

http://globaleducation.ning.com/
The world is connected more the ever before. I can fly around the world in a day, I can talk to any one instantly. How this relates to education is we can communicate, teach, learn, or anything in an instant. Take E-live, I could be in France and still take class in Anchorage Alaska. We connect by being like a baby and take the first step and put our self out there. As to whom we connect to see above link. We will connect by talking to others on the website that fit our criterion. Conversations points are anything are relevant to both parties involved.

3 Posts

I read three different posts. The first one is about the difference between the difference between sheer numbers and actually doing something that has meaning. If I was to go hunting and saw a heard of caribou and fired 100 shots at them with out aiming then I would most likely not hit anything. but if I had one shot and aimed it well then I would hit what I'm aiming for. Meaning, know what our target audience is and aim for them. 100 minutes of speaking does no good if we do not reach our target. Relating to teaching, bluntly, we can talk out of both sides of our rear ends until we turn blue but if we do not reach students, whats the point?

The second is about the necessity to un-nerd (if that is a new word I claim it) being tech capable for all professions because it is becoming more apparent today that a lack of knowledge is detrimental for themselves and for the people they try to help.

Lastly I read this article. This is a fun article that shows a lighter side to help improve the atmosphere in the classroom that is much more productive then a tense moody classroom.
